At CW, he lived up to the hype. At HW, we don't know yet. I suspect he'll get killed by either of the K bros.
Hype or Real Deal? (David Haye)

It's not an either/or. Haye IS the real deal as a boxer, his CW record is more than enough to prove that. Whether that carries over to HW remains to be seen, of course.
Haye IS also a hype-job, most of it from himself. I don't know quite what people expect; if he had remained quiet and unassuming there would never have even been the possibility of a Klitschko fight, this year or next. Even then it would have been for peanuts, certainly on Haye's side. More hype (within reason) means more money, as long as you don't push it too far and don't mind eating the humble pie if it doesn't pay off. If it does, though, the sky is the limit for Haye's earning power particularly if the US can finally produce a couple of top quality contenders for him to fight.Comment

I'm not too bothered about being "proven wrong"I'm tired of ppl declaring fighters as super great or calling fighters just hype and then going into hiding after they are proven wrong. So this thread is to call on those ppl when they are actually proven wrong with evidence.
So pick your option for David Haye but remember, you might be proven wrong so pick carefully.

The guy is the lineal and unified Cruiserweight champion.
Protip and this goes for any fighter at any weight.
If you unify the division or are a multiple belt holder at a division YOU ARE NO LONGER HYPE!Comment

He's currently only hype at HW, but that doesn't mean he's ALL hype. We can only wait and see if the HW hype proves to be true. He'll likely lose to Klitschko, but I think any fighter at heavyweight out there would lose to Klitschko at this point. Maybe how he handles himself win or lose in that fight will tell.
In his last 10 fights, Haye's opponents had a combined records of 293-29 and he's blown out a couple of good opponents that were essentially even or close to even money fights (Maccarinelli he blew away in 2 in an even money fight...Mormeck). To me he's gone beyond the hype.
I still don't think he'll beat or come close to beating Klitschko, but will likely make a good account of himself.Comment

He is currently the only fighter worth paying money to watch in the HW division. I wouldn't pay to watch Wlad.Comment
