The Official Ali Funeka beat Nate Campbell thread

I had it 7-5 Funeka (a draw), but....I scored round 10 for campbell which I had a feeling might have been a mistake. I was impressed with campbell's body work, but funeka landed some pretty good shots.

i also gave round 10 to campbell i thought that was his best round as far as clean hard punches landed but he faded towards the end of the round but i thought he landed alot of clean hard body shots in the first 1:30 of that round

I had it a draw. No robbery. Could have seen either guy winning so I wasn't upset with the decision. When you saw the compubox numbers at the end you could see how Nate could have pulled it out, plus those knockdowns helped him out.

Round 8 and 10 are pretty closed even.... I think the judges scored both on Nate...

Nate won, he connected more, he hurt Funeka, dropped him twice, once early, once late (almost for emphasis), Funeka was never able to hurt the man.

You must be blind boy, you should really watch boxing to understand the ins and outs of the sport. Was it a close fight? yes, but Funeka was landing **** other than some shots here and there, dont let his busy-ness fool you, he didnt land enough, never hurt Nate and that was what made Nate win

8-4 Funeka is the only way that fight can be scored. Every round was pretty much crystal clear one way or the other.

All Funeka did was throw more punches. He didn't connect more or hurt Campbell more. He did a good job, but he did not win.

This is pretty much how I feel. I didnt score it round by round, so I cant give you my score. At the end of the night, Nate landed more punches, he landed more effective punches, and he had Ali hurt badly a couple of times. Ali boxed well, hung tough, and made it a close contest but was never able to hurt Nate.

Almost exactly how I had it. Nate did not win more than the 5 rounds he needed to even get a draw, the rounds Funeka won were clear and except for the 1st and the knockdown rounds Nate's rounds were not.

You just disagree with it because Campbell beat the bollocks out of Diaz.

Anyway, I also felt that Campbell just pulled it out. As in every fight in which there is a lot of body punching, and very good body punching, most of it goes completely ignored. Campbell did some really solid body punching throughout the fight and took some rounds, apart from the obvious ones, because of it.

I thought he just sc****d it out. One thing I was quite surprised at though was Campbell's lack of conditioning. He is usually in really top shape and can go for the full twelve damn hard. It seemed as though maybe the weight took it out of him or maybe his camp didn't go as good as it could have. I don't know, but Funeka landed some solid body shots of his own which could have contributed to it.

Anyway, I think Funeka has a very good future ahead of him. It was probably a little too early to go up against someone as seasoned as Nate, who is also fighting as good as he ever has, but he will be champion at lightweight in the future and may stay that way for some time. Anyone that is six foot one and can box, but also has very good power, would be a big handful for any lightweight. He's got a bright future ahead for himself.

sounds like you just have something against nate, it was obviously a close fight and nate scored 2 knockdowns so how can be a robbery! i had it draw and i could see how it coulda been gone either way.
