Clinton Woods Domintes Elvir Muriqi To Win Decision

Former champion Clinton Woods (42-4-1, 24 KOs) redeemed the poor performance in his last fight, against Antonio Tarver ten-months ago, by winning a solid twelve round unanimous decision over Elvir Muriqi (35-5, 22 KOs) at the Hotel De France in Channel Islands, England - picking up the number 2 position in the IBF's light heavyweight rankings to champion Chad Dawson. The scores were 117-111 119-110 and 117-111. [details]

I think Woods time has passed and he has had his day. He had a great chance to beat Tarver but couldnt take it.
The boy from sheffield has achieved his latent potential. Back to the plastering job.

              I wouldn't say that.

One more bash at a world-title, then he can ride off.

That Tarver debacle will really hurt how he is remembered if he goes now. It was his real defining fight and didn't really try, I refuse to believe he didn't have a good reason for it.

Good win for Woods, now hopefully he can bring this form to the USA or he may choose to stay in England, and look for fights with the likes of Cloud and Dawson.

Most likely going to fight Tavoris Cloud for the #1 spot because the IBF hasn't enforce Dawson to fight his mandatory yet (Tavoris Cloud).

His performance against Tarver was embarrassing and it would have been a real shame if that was the way Clinton bowed out. He virtually gave his title away that night. He deserves another crack at the top spot, but if we are honest there is no way he could beat Dawson.
