In the end, we can watch the fights with the sound off, if we want.

It would be great to hear the crowd noise but not the announcers sometimes.

Announcers have their good and bad days. If they start shrieking histrionically like Lampley does, or I hear one to many this is how I thought it would be's from Steward, or Lennox prattling on, the MUTE button works wonders.

Papa's ok but the new showtime guy, Gus Johnson seems much better, even though he's just fitting into his new gig over there.

But in the end, I have my own eyes and my own assumptions.

The only guy I want to listen to is the wise old sage, Larry Merchant, preferably with a few belts of booze in em.

Bob Papa should just stick to football....he's not exciting enough for boxing...bring George Foreman, Roy Jones and IDK whoever else back

I respect George just fine. I just want him kept away from the commentator's table. You can leave that task to the professionals like Albert, Lampley, and Merchant.

For someone reason this reminds me a lot of "I think you don't like Hamed Jim"

You can't let personal feelings get in the way of telling it like it is.

On the subject of fighters doubling as commentators though, Roy Jones Jr was and always will be the best. No bias, didn't prefer any particular style, somewhat funny, and offered some really good personal insight from a fighter's perspective from time to time.

Yeah, if only he went to the meetings. Also, Allan Green really seems to know his ****.
