Extremely talented, well respected and not to mention one of the best boxing scibes on the planet who writes for the Grand Rapids Press, David Mayo has been busted by the cops. The sports columnist, known for getting the juicy quotes out of Floyd Mayweather Jr. is reportedly accused of growing marijuana inside his residence.
If you ask me, it shouldn't be a crime, considering George Washington grew Marijuana fields... but that's another story, and unfortunately Mayo isn't an Ex-President.
Mayo has been charged with possession of the Drug with the intentions to sell somewhere between 5 and 45 kilos of marijuana, as well as maintaining a drug house home and could face up to 7 years in prison. Mayo's Lawyer is quoted in the media stating he doesn't know of any evidence of Mayo (48) selling the Marijuana he produced.
Mayo has been covering Boxing for the Grand Rapids Press going all the way back to 1985. I hope Mayo the best. He is an awesome writer, with talents that aren't easily replaceable. I hope the Grand Rapids Press sticks by their man.
