Cotto needs to learn to box like a black fighter, so Mayweather Sr. or Roger would be perfect. I would choose Roger because he is more offense oriented. Both would improve his defense and movement and focus on building up his reserves so he can box for a full fight instead of just 8 rounds.

what has Mayweather Senior ever done for people to consider him that good a trainer? Ive never seen him improve any fighters significantly, and basically he just lives off his sons name. at least Roger actually trained Floyd.

and why would Cotto need better boxing skills when he already outboxed Mosley anyway. if anything he just needs a trainer that will teach him more tricks of the trade and build up his stamina a little more. so if not his father, I would go ahead and say Roach.

I agree, but Evangelista is his uncle not his father

I agree that he is laid back thats why a trainer like Mayweather would do Miguel justice.

I like the way he's right now, but if he decide to change I would pick Stewart or Mayweather Sr. He could improve his defense to the next level.
