Miguell Cotto -VS- Michael Jennings WITH Loaded gloves/headgear Poll!

Who do you think would win if Michael Jennings was permitted to use plaster of paris handwraps and headgear? I know it's a bit ridiculous but I really think Cotto is elite level and a full class above Jennings. How would everyone see this playing out? Cotto would obviously have to be careful about getting hit with anything too big but I think he could definitely win this with the correct gameplan. Poll to follow.
    36
    Miguel Cotto by stoppage.
    55.56%
    20
    Miguel Cotto by decision.
    19.44%
    7
    Michael Jennings by stoppage.
    16.67%
    6
    Michael Jennings by decision.

I would still think that the unibrow wouldn't stand a chance.

      realistically, then....Jennings would KO him.

Come on now, he is going to get whooped by Cotto but as Drew said he' only a level below him, not several levels to the point he is a rank amateur.

Jennings is a top fighter at British domestic level, with decent defence and a snappy Jab, he's better at boxing than 95% of the entire world, at least. If we are going to get really general on the topic.

it's a close poll sparks..! I think it would be a close fight. Cotto can be fast, if he brought a pac/dlh type gameplan into the ring I wouldn't be completely shocked if he pulled off the victory. I realize Jennings is a professional but when I think of Cotto I think this guy is top 3 in the world. I said a class above but he might be more than one. Odds are Cotto doesn't win but I still find the topic entertaining.

I agree with you on the high ranking of Cotto, he is definetely up there.

We'll see how many levels above Jennings he is.

From what I've seen of Jennings over the years though, he is a skilled guy. Obviously Cotto has been in with better fighters than Jennings, but he is very neat, and very tidy. He will have some success with his jab. And realistically, he'll probably go past 6 at least because he isn't going to go out there swinging like Gomez, his hands are always nice and high and his chin is always tucked in. Jennings will more than likely get negative, very quickly.

A cheeky tenner on the outgunned Jennings going the distance, I might hazard. It's easier for fighters to go the distance when they don't take risks.

People better not slag off Jennings for making Cotto look bad after the fight, as we all agree he is comprehensively outgunned.

Jennings stock can only go up, lol.

I no its hard for everyone to imagine that Cotto could lose this as of course the odds are stacked against Jennings but there is the possibilty that Jennings turns up on his A game in which case i feel we have a very intresting bout, yes Jennings will not Knock out Cotto but he is fast and smart and has loads of stammina, if he can hit and move he could force a close descision supposing cotto has been affected his defeat, Jennings has his shot here and he seems very confident, he has more to gain here than cotto, he only sees this as a stepping stone, jennings sees this as a oppurtunity, the chance of a lifetime, yes he is 31 but a young 31 and his face is untouched, well for now,

I agree with you Sparks, if Jennings goes in there not attempting to blast Cotto and fights a careful calculated battle he may even come near going the distance but.. I don't think there is any risk to Cotto in this. I don't just say that b/c it's a relative no-name vs a household name. For instance, I think the Pavlik/Rubio fight is going to be a lot more competitive. I'm not just predicting results based on the idea of elite vs non elite. I'm surprised more people aren't predicting a rubio upset. Rubio has a serious KO ratio and he has really sc****d his way to where he is. He even beat Zertuche which is one of Pavlik's most prominent and more recent wins. I think Rubio is a legit danger for an upset, and while Jennings may go deep into the fight I don't consider him a threat to Cotto.

How would Cotto win this fight with both arms being cut off?

Must idiots on this forum would say by accidental headbutt and win on the scorecards.

Jennings isn't even viewed as a human on this board. I admit that Jennings has little chance of beating Cotto, but at least show the guy some respect.

Jennings still gets ****d. With headgear and plaster wraps, or without headgear and plater wraps.

I have all the respect in the world for the unibrow, which is why I wanted to hook him up with an advantage! Get him a better chance of winning.
