    2009 Jones-Sheika Update!

Ticket went on sale today for multi-division former world champion Roy Jones Jr’s first hometown fight in Pensacola, Florida, since January, 1999. Coming off his loss to Joe Calzaghe in November, Jones (52-5, 38 KOs) will face Omar Sheika (27-8, 18 KOs) on March 21 at the Pensacola Civic Center. The event is being promoted by Square Ring Promotions in association with Hirsch Borao Boxing and the Pensacola Civic Center and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.

My thoughts are I wish Roy would retire.

As sick as it is though I know I will be looking forward to watching it.

I love Roy, but damn dude...this is a battle of has-beens and (compared to Roy) Sheika never even was. Maybe Sheika needs dough, but I can't believe Roy is broke. He should hang em' up and promote or train or commentate or even work on his tunes. He does nothing but diminish his legacy at this point imo.

No point to this fight. Roy will probably lose this too.

You people are a disgrace! Roy Jones isn't diminishing nothing. In his last fight he lost a hard fought decision to the #1 pound for pound at that moment in time, cut him a bit of slack eh? There's nothing wrong with fighting Omar Sheika at this stage of his career, just a stay busy fight against a decent opponent.
