Mosley, Berto in The Running For Miguel Cotto in June

Top Rank’s Bob Arum will not rule out any of the top names for Miguel Cotto’s planned ring return on June 13. Cotto was originally going to face Antonio Margarito in a rematch, but those plans were scrapped when the California State Athletic Commission revoked Margarito’s license to box on Tuesday, making him unavailable for at least a year. Margarito had his license revoked after the commission ruled that his hand wraps contained a foreign substance. The substance was discovered in Margarito’s hand wraps about thirty-minutes before he entered the ring to fight Shane Mosley on January 24. [details]

Arum should make Berto-Cotto and Mosly-Clottey. he needs to put Clottey in the mix. he is forgetting about Clottey. Wich I think will give anyone problems.

Clottey-Mosley, Berto-Cotto in june winners meet in late fall!!!!!!!!!!1

I personally don't think Berto is ready for Cotto, but I mean if he's willing to step in, then God bless him. Although I would like to see Mosley-Cotto 2 first, being that Shane isn't getting any younger.

Berto needs to rematch Collazo before he does anything else. SSM can fight either Cotto or Clottey and it's fine by me.

Andre Berto - Miguel Cotto would be one hell of a fight, Berto's stamina is better and his uppercuts are nasty!

Toss up, but it would be very exciting, that's for sure.

better stamina based on what ??

he got tired againest Collazo. Cotto's been in there with the likes of better opposition, I don't see how you can base he has better stamina based on the fighters he fought in his career so far. Collazo ate those uppercuts.

Mosley doesnt deserve 50 percent. Cotto got the W int he first fight. Didn't he take less money too? They probably feel Berto has a better following than Clottey.

I agree, Clottey is Arum's fighter, and at this point, he is not been doing a very good job at promoting him. He should throw Clottey in there with Sugar Shane, that would be a great fight, then if Mosley prevails we will get our Cotto-Mosley rematch, if not, we will get the Ring Magazine Welterweight Titlist; either Miguel or Joshua.

Isn't it time to declare the best Welterweight out there once and for all? I feel that P-Will is not relevant at 147 and should stay at 154 and 160 where IMO he is the most effective.

I think Berto is as ready as he's ever going to be. He's in his proper weight class, he's faced each kind of test. This would be an awesome fight too. Both guys could get hurt by the other. Both guys are about the same size. Both are gritty and tough enough to overcome early adversity. It could be better than Berto/Collazo and Margarito/Cotto.
