  • Cotto: "Margarito Should Be Suspended Everywhere"

Miguel Cotto does not agree with the tentative idea of Antonio Margarito headlining a summer event in Mexico. During a hearing that was held on Tuesday, Margarito had his license revoked by the California State Athletic Commission. The CSAC felt that Margarito and his trainer violated the rules when a foreign substance was discovered in Margarito's hand wraps before the fight with Shane Mosley on January 24. The suspension would prevent Margarito from fighting in the United States, but not in other countries like Mexico. [details]

I agree with Cotto. Suspensions should be universal. Of course, I'd aggree even more if I got beaten down by Margarito like he did. But I can see Cotto's point.

Nothing wrong with Miguel giving his opinion on it.

At least it's not "if Top Rank says he can fight then he should fight".

I mean, he's got a right to his own opinion. He hasn't stated that he wants his fight reviewed or anything. He's just one out of many fighters who agree with his statement.

Miguel is right and this is why hes my favorite fighter. If Margarito stiffs his penalty and goes out fighting elsewhere, America should never allow him to fight on their soil.
