Jeff Lacy was hardly on top of the world OR at the very peak of his career. Despite what all the nut hugging, fan boys think. He had 17 fights and never beat anybody.

21 fights, actually. And hyped to be "the next Tyson". JC was a huge underdog, even in the UK.

If that ain't on top of the world, or at the very brink of it, I don't know what is.

Joe Calzaghe-Jeff Lacy is a mismatch. Lacy is going to destroy that boy. He's too strong, he's a fighter - he's proved himself.

Calzaghe never did anything. He beat Chris Eubank nine years ago, but what has he done since then? He's a joke, that's why he keeps pulling out of fights.

I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled out of this one. Everybody in the UK is over-protected, but Lacy will be OK, because he's a fighter.

Most people were, it's nothing to be ashamed of, it's easy to buy into such hype. I'm glad I wasn't convinced, though. Only thing I said was before the fight (to my girlfriend): "Joe can win this but he needs to be damn careful."

Definitely. I have respect for Lacy, he took his beating like a man when I felt the fight should have been stopped, and as you said, was willing to cross the pond and attempt to unify. Can't knock him at all.
