Not necessarily the best but here are some names that I can remember:

      Pure boxer
      Pernell Whitaker
Larry Holmes (not really a puncher in my opinion)

      Boxer-Puncher
      Marvin Hagler
      Thomas Hearns
      Alexis Arguello
      Bob Foster

      Swarmer
      Joe Frazier
      JC Chavez
      Aaron Pryor

      Slugger
      George Foreman
      Gene Fullmer
      **** Tiger

It's hard to classify the style of most great fighters because they could fight in many different ways... Sluggers do not often make it to the top level.

        Yep.

Chavez vs Duran would of been a helluva fight. I think id pick Duran based on the fact he could stay in the pocket and counter puncher, and he was able to be defensive on the inside aswell as offensive.

Duran has more dimensions than Chavez i feel, although its probably still a pick em fight.

          Trinidad a swarmer

Come on fix that. Trinidad is more of a Boxer/puncher in my eyes.

What a monster Pryor was. Which fight is it when he gets knocked down, jumps up straight away and throws himself at his opponent without taking a count from the ref? Hilarious! I've only watched him against Arguello I & II and Cervantes, but I've seen that clip from a highlights vid.

It was his fight against Akio Kameda. I'm almost certain that he did it in another fight as well when he was knocked down.

Julian Jackson was pretty much a slugger as well.

Hey Machine what catergory would you put McGuigan in?

Barry was all about activity and in your face being and aggression throwing and throwing, but i suppose some might say Boxer/puncher.
