Yeah when he ditched is original trainers he went downhill. He could have been better, I agree. He needed more discipline.

In my opinion, had his career progressed like a normal boxers would have.

i.e. Money-Hungry Promoters/managers did not interfere, did not sack close trainers and friends, did not lose close people every now and again, did not mess around with alcohol and women, prepared for his bouts etc. etc.

He could have done alot more, with big bouts in the early 90's, probably retiring by the end of the decade.

However, his problems outside the ring were more than most HW Boxers in that era put together, and Tyson was a Train-Wreck waiting to happen

agreed i dont think he had the ability to deal with his problems outside the ring that made him lose focus in and out of the ring i think had he been able to handle them like some fighters have i think he would have beaten everyone he lost to even lewis by the time there fight happened tyson had lost the plot. shame

You've watched too many Tyson docs.

Tyson staying on the straight and narrow is like Andrew Golota containing himself from throwing low blows Aint happening

Tyson would of still gone of the rails, because the man is unstable, sorry but its the truth.

cus d'mato was that last string of constraint for mike...and even then, it wasnt an easy job keeping mike in line....had cus stayed alive, i dont really see mike being able to resist his demons...he was a young, unstable fighter that had the world at his feet
