You cant hate Jones for doing his job, no....Lets not make it out to be something that it is not though, a great win.
I disagree. IMO it was a great win. In the same way that Antonio's win over Roy was a great win. James was in the absolute prime of his career. He was the SMW champ having been the number 1 guy at 160 and was rated second in the world p4p going into the fight. These were the circumstances at which Jones took the fight. Just because James could not control his weight does not mean it isn't a great win for Jones.

We cant call a win a great win if you do not get a fighter at 100% it just cant be accepted....The win will always be tainted....You're intitled to your opinion tho.

That is fine. Just know that there are a ridiculous number of great fighters whose best wins are going to come into question if you adopt that attitude. It is rare that a top fighter is beaten and a range of excuses are not offered.

Sorry, you cant have it both ways.....

Get the **** outa here you clowns.
lol ive never said that about him. as far as im concernded a loss is a loss and as a rjj fan the win agains toney wasnt as great as ppl make out. i think tarvers punch was a bit lucky but none the less it destroyed jones physicaly and mentaly the johnson fight jones was still tryin to get over the tarver ko menatly and looked scared and the loss to calzaghe was just all the proof jones shud need to no to give up all good fighters lose fights its how they come back from the loss that counts and jones never really has he had 3 pretty brutal losses still dont mean he wasnt great at what he did u just make ur self sound so biased by writing things like that

              Thanks!

Starting these threads ive tried to balance out the hate on here....It seems to be all one way with some fighters (mainly Roy) getting a free ride. I dont mind making myself a target for these guys because facts and logic will always overcome groupies opinion.

I know this but it seems on here Roy could do no wrong and what Calzaghe has acheived means nothing.....Some Roy fans refuse to accept anything after 49-1 happened.

Yes you can call it a great win, 85 to 90% of the time fighters will always make excuses after a loss.

Well if that the case the man in your ''Avater'' Thomas Hearns best win came against, a weight drained, under trained Roberto Duran, who claimed he had took Hearns lightley.

So should Thomas Hearns win be tainted No, because if Duran like Toney would of won there would of been no metion of bad preperation.

If we thought like this when every fighter makes a excuse after a lost, harldy no wins would be good wins for the fighter that won, yes sometimes people do like to mention a fighters bad preparation for the cause of the loss, on there fighters behalf, but you can't take the fighter who won, win away.

                  It works two ways.

I'm a ****ing massive Hearns fan and of course the win over Duran is tainted. Not a ****ing chance Hearns would have KO'd him if he hadn'tr went up over 200lbs. I call a spade a spade whether it be a fighter i like or one i dont like so much.

Hearns woulda still got a UD against a peak Duran though.
