Some fights from Solo Boxeo, and Diosdado Gabi. I couldn't wait, so I just put this together. Mares vs Juanma and Gamboa in the future, watch out for him.
Future, pound for pound? Or no?
He should fight William Gonzalez, the dude who fought Joseph Agabeko in a really good fight on Versus, on the undercard of Pacquiao-Hatton. It would be a good return bout.
I think skill wise he has great funadmentals that he learned from Nacho. He's still a bit shakey defense wise though. It's not that his defense is horrible, it's just that he gets hit with shots he shouldn't have to take.
I really hope a fight with William Gonzalez comes off and then Anselmo Moreno or Fernando Montiel. Hopefully Moreno so that someone can eliminate him out of the picture.
i think he is very good but that gamboa is special. abe is a going to be a champ for sure but you can tell by the comp that gamboa is already facing and the ease in which he is beating them he is on a different level
For me, its a toss up, he's easily as good as Juanma and Gamboa. I can see him beating both of them, he gets hit with shot's he isn't supposed to take, but that hasn't really stoped anyone like Gamboa. he's a future star, brought up from Solo Boxeo, just like Antonio Margarito and Miguel Cotto were.

Abner Mares need to move up in weight, he's unnessesserly, weight draining himself, move up Mares, you been stalking Juanma, it's tme to play with the big boys. He should fight Vic (yes, the guy who destoryed both Arce and Mijares), hes much closely in weight right now than Izzy than jump up in weight, take JUanma left overs or whoever he left behind, while Juanma and Gamboa fight here in Miami, to a draw...
