    Penalosa-Lopez is on!

    By Nick Giongco

Hall of Fame promoter Bob Arum told ********* on Monday morning (Sunday night in the US) that the April 25 super-bantamweight showdown between WBO 122-lb king Juan Manuel Lopez of Puerto Rico and ageless Filipino warrior Gerry Penalosa is green and go. “I have talked with Penalosa’s manager, Billy Keane, today and we’re doing the fight,” said Arum, whose company promotes the undefeated Lopez. Penalosa is under contract with Golden Boy Promotions but a deal has been made for the two to clash in a scheduled 12-rounder in Puerto Rico. Penalosa, 36, is currently training in Baguio City for a tuneup bout set Feb. 21 in Cebu against a crack Mexican rival. Penalosa is the current WBO bantam titleholder and the former WBC super-fly ruler.

But wait ! If JP beats JML its end of the hill for JML even before he becomes famous... JP is like SSM, very hungry, no money after all these years! I think this will be the younger boxer`s downfall. Jerry has very accurate punches, like Trinidad, gud defense. JML is unproven, has a lot to loose. Maybe that`s why there`s been a delay in the contract. Am for Penalosa. This fight is the worst nightmare for Juan Manuel Lopez.
