The ropes caused the cut on Arce that stopped the fight

I've seen the replays a few times, there is no cut, then Darchinyan drives Arce into the corner, Arce emerges with a cut after some friction from the ropes.

    Bad stoppage.

No discredit to Darchinyan, who fought a hell of a fight and showed what kind of class he is. I just think it's a terrible way to end such a great fight.

I think a rematch is unnecessary because there was no doubt who was superior.

    Bring on a Donaire rematch.

Definitely, but the outcome was clear. No way was Arce ever gonna win that fight. He'd probably get stopped or KO'd in the last round anyways.

Damn... The ropes beat Arce, Tito low blows beat Vargas, Chavez was too old for DLH, DLH was weight drained and lost to Pac, Margarito lost because he was distracted by the plaster falling out before the fight...

        Where does it end?

You took this somewhere completely different with this.

I already said, Darchinyan had established his superiority, he was winning the fight by a staggering margin. Just going by the rules, a fight can only end in a TKO by cuts if the cut is caused by a punch, not by a rope abrasion.

Oh no here comes the Mexican hater.
Wow talk about an irrelevant thread.

But in all seriousness I think it was bad call to stop the fight, even though Arce got the **** knocked out of him, he should let Arce continue. It was just one more round and maybe we would've seen a knockout at the end.

Arce had cuts all over him, his eyes, head, ears. It didn't matter, he was bleeding from everywhere.

Vic knew he was in a fight, his face showed it and he felt every bodyshot and he was stunned a few times by Arces left hooks.

Darchinyan did right by staying away most of the fight, he didn't fight like he said he would Arce just couldn't corner him and i think its sucks that Arce wasn't allowed to go the 12 rounds he already showed he could hurt Vic but it was a fair fight.

I hope Montiel didn't already move up after Vic turned him down for a fight in order to face Arce.

Anyone know who he was talking too after the interview?

nah, this fight was easy, thats why vic reverted to his sloppy loading up puncher style... he really wanted to KO arce, but if he just put together combinations he might have stopped arce dramatically
