Sure he's a jerk, but being a nice guy doesn't necessarily get you noticed or paid in boxing. And except for 1 fight so far he's backed up his smack talk. Besides, if he had boring interviews without all the great quotes, I don't think the lower weights would be getting as much attention as it is right now.

We were in a WBC convention. I went up to greet Vic Darchinyan. I greeted him the way I greet everyone, in a very sinceer humble way. I said "hey how are you doing Vic " I was looking for an oponent but it wasn't vic at the moment. I was very curteous and friendly with him. Then
he looked at my wife(girl friend at the moment)... he asked...... "WHO's that?" I said "she's my girlfriend" then Vic proceeded to say "She's pretty, You're a lucky man." Then later Vic said to me "When you and I fight... She's going to want to come with me instead because women always leave with champions"
