I was very impressed with boytsov, his fighting age is def older then his real age. Great short right, never left himself open, great defense, and great composure. Looking forward to wathcing this kid come up, but he def has all the tools.
Why did you have to add "I'm not sure if it proves anything", Manchine?
Are you incapable of ever being positive about a European fighter - if so, why? You always rain on their parades, like Kellerman and Atlas do - but you're not an American.
Do you feel betrayed?
Manchine is completely right, this wasn't exactly a win that had immediate title implications, it was a showcase win for Boytsov who is still in the development stage of his career.
Garcia came in with 2 previous losses, one to Taurus Sykes and the other, his last fight, a third round demolition job against Chris Arreola. Not many expected much from Garcia considering his last fight and not much is what people got.
If you have a different opinion, why don't you tell me what this KO from Boytsov proved?
For someone to say "it doesn't prove anything" may well be correct, but that comment seemed unnecessarily negative. It's seemed like some kind of petty jealousy, do you understand what I mean?

Impressive performance by Boytsov but I'm not sure if this proves anything.
He did what he was supposed to do, which is always a good thing.

Well, what people in the BoxRec forum were saying about this fight yesterday, is that it was a good way to see how Boytsov compares to Arreola, against the same opponent.
Arreola was hit more by Garcia, and was a bit hurt in the second round. Chris never knocked him down in their fight, and took another round to stop him.
The fight today didn't really prove anything, I never said that it did, but it did give us an indication that Boytsov may be better than Arreola.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it proves Boytsov is better than Arreola, but Boytsov looked MUCH better today than Arreola looked last fall against the same opponent, Garcia.

The comment above from Eisenfaust seemed more appropriate:
"Boytsov was impressive.
I'd like to see him take a step up in his next fight."
I don't know if Garcia, 38 and coming off of a KO3 to Arreola, being stopped in 2 by Boytsov, is necessarily and indication that he may be better than Arreola. I think it means that Garcia realized that he wasn't going to get very far on his limited talent and was going to cash out his chips.
I saw him live in '07 on a Glen Johnson under card, he looked every bit like a built-up future opponent then and just looked like he wasn't interested in putting up a fight today.
I don't know what Manchine has to be jealous over, I think he's just trying to call it like he sees it. It was a good performance by Boytsov, he came in well-conditioned, his opponent not so much, and did what he was supposed to do.
I'd like to see Boytsov step up and fight a Chazz Witherspoon or Malik Scott, the latter I think being a real test for Boytsov given the contrast in styles.
