Andre Ward has moved slowly and also had two injuries that've slowed his progress. So, neither HBO or Showtime has done much to get him in big fights. But now that Ward has beaten Ruben Williams, Jerson Ravelo and Sugar Poo Buchanan without losing a single round in any of those fights it's time for the networks to get him into fights that matter.
It's time for the networks to get Ward into fights that will allow him to reach his potential. Because we already know that he can dominate fighters who are just outside the rankings. What's the point of having a fighter with all that talent just sitting on the sidelines waiting for an opportunity to shine? I think Showtime has a good idea of what they're looking at with Ward, but HBO actually has the dude under contract and they're letting him fight on Showtime because they won't approve any of his fights.
