are ppv fights transmitted in HD?

my dad bought a sony bravia lcd 40" 1080p hdtv/hdmi last night and we were wondering if the ppv fights were broadcasted in hd? cause if so my family has a new place to watch fights at lol.

another thing, does anyone else have this tv? i had an off topic question about directv's quality with it. i got the normal directv box, the one with composite/s-video cables and the image seems blurry. i was wondering if the hd directtv box would help due to the fact that it allows component and hdmi output, therefore giving me a better signal quality even if the channels aren't necessarily hd? any help would be appreciated.

ok first to answer you question yes ppv fights are broadcast in HD for an extra 10 dollars i belive.

Second you have a nice lcd tv, that's great but you still need the HD signal to hit your tv in order to get the HD affect. You need to call direct tv and have them set you up with HD. It's a whole different signal that requires a different satellite dish and a HD box. and you need to connect your box with HDMI not components or s video so you can get the hd picture.

Buying the LCDTV is the first step in getting good HD pictures, but you need to follow through with the signal and connections to really see the crisp HD picture.
