The CSAC has one major obstacle to overcome with this investigation should he be found guilty: The officials did not catch it, Nazeem did! This speaks loudly of the quality control that the officials have with respect to inspecting handwraps.

That said, Margarito may never be the same. His confidence level and insecurities as a respected fighter will be greatly affected. He also lost a very one-sided fight and was brutally KOed by the man that was a 4:1 underdog. Geez, talk about a bad night....
very good post. Withour assuming anything about the substance in or not in the illegal pads Margarito is looking at a minimum of having illegal pads inserted under his wraps. They were caught in the act on this one and they will likely at a minimum be fined and face a lengthy suspension and loss of personal respect by many. The most interesting part of all of this is as you mentioned that the commissioners did not find this but rather the other fighters trainer. This needs to be brought to the forefront of this issue. Is this happening in other fights with other fighters? What else could be getting by if the rules and regulations are so slipshod? What about pre and post fight testing for banned substances? I am now very curious about this whole issue.

        It's present or it's not!

It should not be too hard to tell what was used . Let,s face it if
was on the wrap it would be pretty hard to hide once spotted.
They should be banned from boxing for life and fined an enormus
amount of money. Margarito had to know it was there if it was.
As it is, if nothing was amiss then there should be an apology and make damn shure there is something wrong before making any statement like that again. They are innocent till proven guilty.
