    Juan Gomez?

Has anyone actually seen Juan Gomez fight?

I'll admit aside from him being Vitali's next beat down victim I never even heard or seen the guy before?

Juan Carlos Gomez was a great cruiserweight, defended the WBC cruiserweight title 10 times. He has been an underachiever at heavyweight. He looked impressive winning a wide UD over Vladimir Virchis in his last fight.

He was a cruiserweight champion for a long time and has some decent wins as a heavyweight.

The only reason he isn't talked about is because of his past drug abuse and an off night against Yanqui Diaz.

I don't know anything about the guy. I figure he'll get stopped.

Gomez is a good fighter but his best days are behind him and like someone else mentioned he's been ****ed up out of the ring.....He's also quite small which will be an obvious disadvantage against a fighter as large and skilled as VK. I don't think it'll be the walk in the park you think it will though.....VK by UD or maybe late stoppage IMO.

Juan is a pretty underrated fighter. He debuted in 95, after a stellar amature career, were he won the gold medal World Junior Championships in Lima at 75kg, and also defeated Antonio Tarver in the USA Vs Cuba Cup in Ledyard. and ended claming a Amateur Record of 158-12.

He was crusierweight WBC Champion taking the title from Marcelo Fabian Dominguez-1998-02-21,and would go on to make 10 defences of the title. before moving to heavyweight. After a couple of decent wins at the weight.

Were he was caught on a off night against fellow Cuben Yanqui Diaz, and TKO'd in 1R. A loss which shound't of happened but did. After this he would win 7 fights including vicotires over former world champion Oliver McCall and rated contender Vladimir Virchis to earn a shot at current WBC champion Vitali Klitscko on March 21 2009.

He has also been tested for *******, in a fight were he still won against Oliver Mccall, but it got changed to a NC.

He's a very clever southpaw, with a good jab, a good boxing brain, and can pack a punch Ko'ing 35 of his 44 victims. He also claims to have a win over Wladmir Klitscko in the amature ranks.
