you are meant to pray with them (like you say a prayer for each bead) but theres nothing wrong with wearing them around your neck as long as its not meant to be a fashion statement

I don't mind (Catholic) fighters wearing them though... Not too many people giving it up nowadays. It lets me know that these fighters are grounded and give credit were credit is due... Nothing wrong with wearing it around the neck as long as you use it for what it was intended for... As a flawed human, I truly believe that fighters like Pacquiao, who pray and give praise and credit at the end of a victory, have a helping hand in their fights. It reminds me I need to change and give thanks for everything in my life.

You can be thankful without proselytizing. I am bothered when people thank God for their victories publicly. It's as if they mean to say that God favored them over their opponent.

I'd like to thank God for choosing me instead of him.

I don't know anyone who wears them, a lot of my family (Catholics) keep them under their pillows.

I don't think it's great wearing them around your neck though, just go in with a cross and chain - though I guess it might be a bit awkard taking it off, Whereas Rosary beads, pulll it over your head: Job done.
