    If Pavlik was European

Would Americans call him a Euro-bum for getting ruined by Hopkins?

Well if Pavlik was a European fighter he wouldn't have faced a hopkins at a young age of 26, he would have needed about 20+ more tune up fights and 10 years of experience before stepping up in competition.

I never thought Pavlik was a bum or a hype-job. He just offered a tailor-made style for Hopkins and got schooled by a legend. I'm sure he will come back 10x stronger. Although, I think having Jack Lowe in his corner is bad for him, he should change trainers A.S.A.P. Any one of use can tell Kelly to double up his jab round after round.

you beat me to this response..... I don't recall people cutting Pavlik any slack because he was American. Infact alot of us BIAS Americans gave Calzottke alittle more credit for beating Hopkins after Hopkins ran over Pavlik.

Yea, because the Americans wouldn't fight him unless he had a "built up" record.

You have seen how HARD it has been for Froch to get a fight with Taylor, HBO won't even televise it.

The American public are obsessed with NAMES, so europeans have to fight elsewhere.

Im amazed too!!! being a huge 160b`r he should have feasted on Welterweights for a while, thats what happens in America, no?

Shame he fought Hopkins looking to fight the best of his era a Britisher.

Thats what they are like in America.

They don't fight the best at the time, they just want to fight a "name", regardless of weightclass.

ala De La Hoya - Pacman. or Taylor fighting Lacy for title eliminator instead of Froch for a WORLD TITLE.

actually he should have fought calzaghe, which is what everyone wanted (americans & Europeans) but unfortunately Calzaghe was on his senior citizen tour at the time.

Thats why Taylor fought Lacy instead of Froch.

Money not legacy in America, look at Roy Jones career as case in point.
