Calzaghe fed off former champs past their best Reid,Eubank,Woodhall,Mitchell,Brewer
all of these were former champions who had seen better days when they met Calzaghe, that is the reality, its not lies or distortion of the truth.

His other biggest win came against a novice pro(Jeff Lacy) who had 18 fights when he fought Joe.

Kessler had beaten who exactly when Joe faced him?

Hopkins he did not beat imo, because how can you win a fight when you are not landing punches, its a simple equation in my book.

Jones is not worth mentioning, because Brewer and Mitchell posed more threat than Roy at that stage of his career.

Calzaghe's is undefeated, because he fought past prime fighters and unestablished fighters who have beaten nobody.
I am ione who wasn't very fond of Joe Calzaghe when I first started posting on these boards last july. I don't think it was so much because I didn't like him but due to some of his fans and the way they thought of him. I am now a fan of Joe and although I agree with you original post here to some extent I will say this even C Class to - B Class fighters have good nights. This means that even though you may not have always fought A level competition it is still not that easy to go 46-0. Every one would agree here that when Roy foguth Joe Roy was past his prime. That being said he still caught Joe with a lucky shot in the frist round putting Joe on the canvas. My thinking and reasoing here is even a shot fighter has a punchers chance.

Hopkins came back and took Pavlik's heart and soul in that fight Joe although the SD was suspect fought well enough in the judges eyes to win that bout. Listen we all have heros or fighters that we love and respect. They too have been given some gifts past and present not excluded. Ali over Norton to this day ken swears he won all those fights. Ask Joe Frazier if Ali ever beat him he might punch your mouth loose. Tyson well everyone says that Mike never fought no one special and when he did he lost. I being a Tyson fan love Mike and would tend to disagree. Fact is Joe is 46-0 he unified the titles at 168 and beat the Man Hopkins at Light Heavy Wieght. Kessler we would all not mind seeing in there against say Taylor so to say Kessler isn't worth mention or hasnt got any credability is nonsense. Kessler is a Top 5 fighter in his weight class and may be the man at 168. I am no Joe nutthugger. i have blasted him in the past about slapping and not fighting top level fighters but still 46-0 is pretty damn good son you have to admit it. It is not like he fought a bunch of cab drivers or pizza delievery men. There are some pretty highly ranked fighters who some belive to have ATG status who fought say 40-50 years ago who fought alot of part time fighters. Take a look at Sugar ray Robinsons resume tell me how many fighers on his list you would say are bums. Take the overall numbers of fights and work the percentage out of what you qualify as respectable class opposition. I bet you percentage wise it aint no better or worse then Calzaghe.....Lefty
