just look at the performance he gave during the jones fight , the then p4p number 1 had nothing in that fight jones was picking him off at will . remember this was toneys last fight at 168 . if i remember rightly he wanted a rematch at 175 admitting he had nothing at 168 when they last fought .

and for bernard hopkins knocking out glen johnson that was a hopkins who was 3 years into hes reign against a undefeated but little known johnson who would have all his succes 15 ilbs north 7 years later

JC isnt overhyped. Some give him the credit they think he deserves by saying he is one of the best british boxers of all time and some even say he is the best.
While JC detractors say he is overhyped. YOu get people some pro JC and some against JC.

Noone could expose him, so that speaks for itself. People had their chance but couldnt take it. Not JCs fault. Noones saying hes unbeatable and that if he fought BH in BH prime he might not have beaten BH. But still JC is still great. Exactly how great will always be discussed. Good post. Calzaghe, Jones, Hopkins and Toney were clearly the only true great MW-LHW's of their generation. For some reason the haters wont admit that Joe is on the same level as those other 3 great fighters of this era. If those four fighters had fought each other several times each in their respective primes, Joe would've more than held his own against any of them.

The Rocky Balboa films weren't even about Marciano they were about Chuck Wepner. Also, he compares Marciano to Calzaghe just based on their skin color which is racist in itself. The better comparison would be Hopkins but I digress.

In the super fight movie between Ali and Marciano there were two endings shown-one with Ali the winner and the other Rocky. The author acts as if Ali himself didn't have any consent for the movie he was in, which is foolish.

I am a not a big fan of Calzaghe but this article is bogus on so many levels. Ali himself looked up to Marciano and Benn respects Joe's career so much he favors him over Hearns,Hagler and Leonard.
