To me B-Hop is greater then Pacman...NOW don't think so. Calzaghe beat 2 past prime ATG...a win over a prime ATG like Pac > both B-Hop and RJJComment

I'm not saying Hatton's record is going to trump Calzaghe's if he beats Pacquiao btw but I just wanted to make a few comparisons to your pointcastillo could not make his weight any more so he clearly was not the same fighter plus he had family and financial problems and alot of people thought he was only comin for a pay day
tszyu great win for hatton but tszyu was a very in active fghter he would fight like every 1 and a half years and who did tszyu beat to be considered so great
collazo put the beats on hatton
urango aint **** he can't even throw a straight punch, i thought herman won more rounds than urango but urango definitely won the fight
paulie was a good win for hatton but in the actuall fight pulie wasn't fighting
maussa was actually winning the first half of his fight with hatton and maussa is a bum
lazcano at one point look like he could of finished hatton and he is a washed up lightweight
You say Castillo was weight drained but Eubank dropped down from 177 pounds to fight Calzaghe and in his very next fight he went up to cruiserweight. Castillo had quite recently moved up to LWW to avoid having to drain himself. They were both past their prime.
Urango has gone on to regain a portion of the LWW crown so the win must mean something.
Hatton BEAT Collazo but was in a fight and that was Hatton's first trip to WW. Collazo has recently gone on to take Berto close and show what a tough competitor he is. You could argue this fight is similar to the Hopkins fight, they were both ruffed up and squeeked out with the decision.
Lastly, I don't think much of Maussa as well but he was a belt holder and in that fight Hatton unified.Comment

Right, I see what you're saying, and I agree to a certain extent, but people often make a big deal out of the Jones fight as though it's Calzaghe's defining fight or something. It was just another fight, IMO. Nothing to be particularly proud of, but nothing to be ashamed of either.
As I said, the Eubank fight was a much bigger deal. Kessler was a better win. Heck, even Lacy was a better win considering how so many people were on Lacy's nuts before the fight. Of course, we can all argue that Lacy ain't all that nowadays, it's easy to say such things after the fact, but back then? It was such a different story. Who knows... it took Calzaghe to "expose" Lacy, and maybe Jeff would have otherwise gone on to rack up lots of wins if things had been different. He certainly hasn't looked good since... but 3 years ago? Lacy looked like a real killer. Very few people can legitimately argue that he didn't look like the next big thing.
I had a few doubts myself -- I specifically remember saying "Joe can win but he needs to be damn careful here", but to win like he did, well, I was blown away. Awesome, ridiculously good performance and still one of my favorite fights to watch. So, if anything, it was just a great masterclass and very few fighters except Joe could have (or would have had the balls to) pull it off. Again, Lacy might not be **** NOW, but it took someone a little bit special to make pretty much everyone realize he wasn't even remotely on Calzaghe's level.
But anyway... let the hate continue, I guess. My opinion of Joe Calzaghe will never be changed by anyone here, though. Joe is a great fighter and has been a lot of fun to watch over the last 12 years or so that I've followed his career. He gets massive amounts of credit from me.

I don't know. I think the hate will stop as soon as a faces Chad...a prime fighter on the P4P list. Kessler is a really good fighter but you are who you beat and Kessler hasn't done much, I still say he is unproven.Comment

again...... who the fuck is kessler and lacy?
the fact that joe's resume depend on those 2 names is pathetic.
16 years in the sport and you're bringing up lacy and kessler?
simple.
past prime kostya tszyu > shot roy jones
prime manny pacquiao > past prime hopkins
shot castillo > shot chris eubank
Collazo > Lacy as wellComment

Yeah, it's a real shame about Kessler, but I still haven't given up on him for the fact that he's currently locked into a contract which he is desperately trying to get out of. He will move on to better things, though. I'm sure of it. He definitely has skills, but unfortunately rarely gets to show them. He is still young, so there's a good few years yet. I give him the benefit of the doubt.
I'm not 100% sold on Dawson and I don't think he'd be the man to beat Calzaghe. He is a promising young fighter, but there are questions that are yet to be answered. His chin looks a little fragile at times, and he should rematch Johnson before anything else. Just my opinion. You might disagree! I am semi-disappointed that Joe didn't give him a fight, I'd love to see it, but as I don't see him beating Calzaghe anyway it's not much of a big deal to me and I don't think Joe has to prove himself against Chad.
Also, I sometimes think we put too much pressure on young fighters, because when they step up to elite level they often come off worst for it (Pavlik vs. Hopkins, for example), and then they are shat on and constantly accused of being over-hyped, over-rated, "never that good anyway", etc. It's sad how their former 'fans' just cast them to one side and move onto the next young hopeful. I've seen it many times over the years, as I'm sure you have yourself.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see that happening to Dawson, had he fought and lost to Calzaghe.
