He might beat Pavlik because Pavlik is flatfooted but styles make fights. Pavliks power could cause real big trouble for Joe if he was able to work his jab. Dawson would outbox Joe and UD him. Just like all Calzaghe fans who can only guess what would happen, I can do the same.

You do realise everytime you say this, you pretty much argue the case and underline exactly why Pavlik would not win, and Calzaghe would.

Calzaghe has a very tough chin, has taken flush shots from Kessler and gone un phased, those are roughly as hard as Pavlik hits, and that's just one opponent. He's taken good shots before in his career from punchers and been fine, and even from LHW's after that. Pavliks a MW and couldn't even land on a slower Hopkins. How the hell does he hurt Calzaghe when Calzaghe's taken those fine, and how the hell does he even land them in the first place given all this.
