How many times do you see a young 22 year old get caught and dropped TWICE by the most dangerous puncher in the game and fight his way back into contention?

I think some people are truly idiots to not give Fernando the credit he deserves for the fight he fought where he showed so much heart and determination.

Tito beats THAT Fernando 100 out of 100 times?? I don't think so, take nothing away from Felix. He's truly a special fighter. But had Fernando not got caught early he takes that fight. That took alot out of him but he got up and got himself back into the fight before the blatant low blows. (Felix will do ANYTHING to win and that makes me appreciate him even more) But Vargas could have had that fight make no mistake about it.

            LOL!!!

Let me play mediator for a moment...

The fight was a thoroughly entertaining one. It wasn't a one-sided beating, there was two way action in that fight. Granted, Vargas was almost down and out in the first, but somehow he survived and made Tito work for that knockout. I know that Lederman's scorecard for the first 5 or 6 rounds was CRAZY! Low blows, knockdowns, blood, undefeated records, nationalities...the fight was awesome.

And incase anyone says: "Oh, you liked the fight because Tito ends up winning!"

            Nada que ver. :P

I've watched Cotto-Margarito 5 or 6 times from beginning to end, that was also a great fight.

He wasn't fighting Tito TOE to TOE. When Fernando got going he was using angles to off-set Tito's power punches. I think the first two knockdowns had alot to do with him faltering down the stretch. If Trinidad hurts you ONCE your usually done that same round. And being hurt or knocked down (when it's not a flash) takes alot out of you. And it did.

Hopkins just took a more cautious approach sliding and always moving away. That's not Fernando, he's not running from anyone. But don't mistake that for him "fighting toe to toe." He was boxing Trinidad in the middle rounds without running away like De La Hoya and Hopkins. But Hopkins still fought masterfully.

The other two of Trinidad's defeats were to fighters using a high guard that were physically stronger than him. And refused to engage at all. And that wasn't the same Felix that Fernando fought anyways. Those were retirement 2 and 3 Tito.
