The fighters I have the utmost respect for...

    Genaro Hernandez
    Daniel Zaragoza

These two fighters, at the very end of their careers, agreed to fight the young, up-and-comer, undefeated challenger who had very little financial backing in the sport at that point (neither opponent had really fought anyone of significant note up to that point).

Why would anyone fight Floyd Mayweather Jr. or Erik Morales when neither would make them that much money? They were, in effect, giving away their championship belts for the love of the sport. Very, very admirable in my opinion.

Daniel Zaragoza not only fought Erik Morales near the end of his career, he also fought an undefeated Wayne McCullough. Genaro Hernandez also wasn't afraid to fight anyone near the end of his career, in his last 6 fights or so he fought ODLH, Azumah Nelson, Carlos Hernandez.

Which is an pretty impressive little run there. Its a shame Genaro Hernandez is going through some hard times at the moment, with his eye problem and a rare kind of cancer he's got or something like that. But i wish him the best.

Yep, those guys, especially Zaragoza, were willing to fight anyone. Though admittedly Dwiens, even at that point Mayweather would have made Hernandez as much $ as most of his other title fights apart from the guys like Nelson etc. Nonetheless, the fact he was willing to put his title on the line against a young, undefeated, obviously highly skilled and very experienced prospect.

Zaragoza was always willing to fight anyone. He was a real warrior that guy. I absolutely love his fight with Jeff Fenech. He traveled down to Aus for it. It's a surprisingly ignored fight as it's such a brilliant one between a prime Zaragoza and a quite young, semi-inexperienced Fenech. Man, I love it. It's kind of similar to Fenech's fight with Villasana. Great fights those.

His fights with Banke are also stunningly exciting! Great, hard fights.

I must admit, I have a slight thing about Hernandez. He was a great fighter but I also sometimes think he's somewhat overrated. He fought some good fighters that were past it, but, in his only two fights against young, unbeaten, very goods guys he gave up half way through. Not saying he quit at all, but it just surprises me you know.....?
