Me too. I like Chad Dawson but I'd like to see him stick around longer. He is a phenomenal boxer and even as some people might not have enjoyed his first fight with Tarver, I thought it was amazing. He put on a clinic.

With my above statement said, as much as I like Dawson, I'm still upset that he won't give Johnson a rematch. To me, that's what a real champion does.

I used to LOVE Chad Dawson, until I saw Glen Johnson kick his ass, and he refused to give him a rematch...I can't believe he would give Tarver a rematch after that badly one-sided fight, but the man that beat him, Glen, isn't even mentioned in the article!!! He is on CRACK and he is a scared little *****! He gets absolutely ZERO respect until he fights the old man that beat him last year! Dawson has what it takes to be a P4P best, but he will never be called that until he fights Johnson again and wins!

Until that day comes...DAWSON IS JUST A !!!!!

I was thinking Dawson fights Diaconu for the WBC belt after Tarver. If Dawson beats Diaconu, Dawson will drop his IBF belt (but keeps the WBC belt) and gives Glen Johnson a rematch.

Forget Calzaghe and Hopkins, there getting older anyway and they don't want to fight Dawson.

Dawson said he wants to retire when he's 30. Being a hall-of-famer boxer isn't exactly a goal of his and I don't blame him. But retiring at age 30 is a little young, I see him fighting till age 34.

Instead of chasing fights with old fighters like Tarver, Johnson, Calzaghe and Hopkins, Dawson should fight someone his own age like Tavoris Cloud.

dawson has a unbleamished record, and is easily one of the best in the game (better than hopkins and calzage, imo; even tho calzage has a unbleamished record as well). not only has he never been beaten, but he claims that he is not even at his best fighting weight, which i believe; and yet he is still beating any oppenent in his path. and for all of you guys talking about how he is rematching tarver but not johnson: HE HAS TO REMATCH TARVER, IT WAS IN HIS CONTRACT WHEN HE TOOK THE FIRST FIGHT. he was qouted as not even wanting to rematch tarver, bc he doesnt think he deserves it. ..now do i agree with him, i dont know. even though tarver looked like a sparring dummy in the first match, tarver has been doing his thing for a while and has a excellent rematch history.
but back to johnson, i dont think it makes that big of a difference if dawson fights johnson or not. imo, johnson is now a ex-champ, journey man hoping for something that he is not capable of. imo, he is a pretty one dementional fight who is boaring to watch with his lathargic tuck and roll game plan

I don't really see what's so unique or admirable with what Chad's said here, sorry. I quite like the guy and think he's good, but firstly the main thing people have gone on at him for is re matching Johnson, he doesn't from what I saw, mention a single thing about it.

Secondly he seems to moan about not being the best LHW in the world, without having any comprehension or respect for the logical rules and reasons why, which most don't complain of.

Those are, Hopkins beat the man at LHW, so became the man.

Calzaghe beat the man, top guy, at LHW, and became the top man.

To say Calzaghe has really not fought there is just ****** sour g****s, yes he has, and he toppled the top guy, more than you've done I'm afraid mate. Guys go up a division for a big win all the time, look at Pacman at mo. So get used to it.

Chad has quite simply, not done this. He's not beaten the two guys above him, and with hardly loads of LHW fights for any of them, he does not deserve to suddenly go above those guys whom were #1 and another whom beat him to become #1. These are standard logical rules for Ring rankings. Perhaps he needs to study and appreciate them more before speaking out like this, because it makes him look a little silly.

Then he's just listed a few names as to who he'd eventually like to fight. Most guys have idea's, dreams for whom they'd like to fight perhaps, idea's and such, to earn the most, get as high p4p as possible, become as big a name as possible. So it's nothing more than that, listing some desires of that.

To top it off, he's willing to go down to 168 to face someone whom has not titles there, has spoken out of no plans to even fight there, but he won't for the guy whom has fought there for years, has belts, and is regarded as the best there? WTF is up with that?

If Chad is willing to go down in weight to 168 he should face Kessler.... The only problem is Palle might not make this fight easy to negotiate.

I dont get it. I saw an interview with Dawson after the first Tarver fight where he stated categorically that he wouldnt be fighting at Cruiserweight or 168 or at any catchweight.

He also refused to come down to 168 to fight Kessler - the recognised best in that division. But now hes saying he'll drop the pounds to fight........Paul Williams? Makes no sense to me.
