i like mab, but i don't see how anyone can justify him fighting a guy who was 1-7.

what the **** is wrong with people, 6 weeks is not sufficient time for a cut that required 3 or 14 stitches, if it goes ahead on March 14th Marco will get zero sparring

this whole thing is sad. i used to really like MAB but ever since he left GB to "start his own promo company" then just went and signed with king, it seems everything he does now has a bit of shadyness to it. i cant say i'm a major MAB fan anymore. he's lost my vote.

I might be wrong, but was there any other options for Barrera and his team? His opponent didn’t show up for the weight in so they had a day to find someone else. With such short notice you have to take what you can get. The other option was cancel the fight all together. I’m a huge Barrera fan and if I had a ticket to this I would prefer to see him fight a bum than no fight at all. Also, this was organized before the Khan fight and was really seen as another stay busy fight for MAB.

I agree with this post. This was simply a stay-busy fight for MAB and it's not his fault Nolasco didn't show up at the weigh-in. I wonder if anything will come out about why he didn't show by the way???

Still, you'd think that in a major city like Guadalajara you'd be able to find an opponent with a more respectable record than 1-7.

many top fighters in the sport have taken fights with guys that have weak records forthe purpose of staying bussy, I doubt the khan fight will happen on the set date, may get pussed back a month or so which would be great cause I think barrera is going to test him. I hope it becomes a war that khan can learn from.

That's true. You don't see it as much anymore 'cause the top fighters don't fight as much as they used to, but it was pretty common in the past.
