      **** mma

How the **** can boxing learn anything from MMA? MMA fighters suck and cant take a single punch to save their lives, (just ask ur big star Kimbo who got Knocked out by some unheard of guy with a jab off his front foot) how can u tell me MMA is more exciting than a boxing match? ive tryed several times to watch MMA fights and get intrested, but everytime, as soon as one guy gets hit with a good punch, they go right down and either the fights stopped right there of they jump on top of either other and start holding either other for the rest of the match (and by the way, how are so many fans interested with somthing that has a moved named the full mount?) theyre not even good punches either, theyre slow and u can see them comming a mile away. theyd get their faster if u mailed the punch 3rd class. And before u get on the whole "mma fighters use smaller gloves", its full of ****. MMA fighters use 4 oz gloves, boxers use 8 oz..but thats 8 oz threwout the entire glove. when u subtract the fingertips and the wristbands and cover just the knuckles, which is all that really matters in a punch, u have 4 oz..maybe less..and one more thing, boxing sells its fights just fine..way better than MMA...im pretty sure De la hoya-Mayweather sold so many PPVs that it made the 2 of the 3 highest paid athletes of the year? So with it all said..MMA could learn how to stop rolling on the ground and learn to throw and take a punch from boxing. MMA just took the pro wrestling approach to get to the top..they got a bunch of loud mouthed, creatine heads who like to think they can fight and put them against each other.

Overall, MMA events are more "High Quality" than Boxing who only sells tha "Main Bout."

Pacman/DLH sold out in like an hr. Couture/Lesnar had to give out a third of their tickets to get a sell out and it didnt sell out until the last week of the event.

And UFC loses money everytime they go overseas.

You're an idiot. Boxing is far more popular overseas than MMA and if the UFC ever goes down, MMA is screwed.

Most MMA fans don't like Kimbo slice just like they don't like Brock Lesnar. So I guess if one overhyped fighter gets KO'd by a single punch, I guess they all can't take a punch because you know generalizing is a great substitute for researching.

Pacquiao/DLH wasn't even sold out. There were empty seats there. I was there live and in person.

More than half of the tickets went to corporate interests, and another huge chunk of them went to ticket brokers, who then were left with the tall task of liquidating hundreds of tickets all the way up until, and even on fight night.

The way these promoters handle these mega events is exactly what they shouldn't be doing.

They only think about short term profit, and have no intentions on making any new fans, and in turn growing the sport for the long haul.

the author is right. UFC has good undercards and the arena is already electrified even before the first fight begins while boxing electrifies the crowd only when the main event is to begin. good job author!
