As for the claim by Margarito's co-manager, Francisco Espinoza, that it was gauze that had grown humid and started to harden of its own accord, I ran that explanation past HBO commentator and Hall-of-Fame trainer, Emanuel Steward. He didn't find it plausible in the least. As proof of his point, he mentioned that he was about to auction off the hand-wraps that Lennox Lewis used in his fights with Mike Tyson and Hasim Rahman. For more than six years, Steward has kept them in a Ziploc bag. If damp gauze ever were inclined to harden over time, one would expect that those wraps would be stiff as boards by now.
"But that material," Steward told me, "is still soft."Comment

this is 100% accurate. super su****ious sounding. Now you all know I'm not biased so I don't want to hear anybody crying. I speak Spanish so this is my perspective and opinion(most important word) of what was said:
KEY
Speaker: (note) phrase[translation]
Capetillo: (don't understand the first thing he says) Sounds like Traga lo.[Drink it.]
Margarito: Estoy bien.
Capetillo: (You can clearly see the water bottle in view.) Traga lo. [Drink it.]
Cutman: Como esta la pegada? [How is the punch?]
Capetillo and Cutman kind of said it at the same moment and Margarito answers both.
Margarito: No. (To Capetillo's suggestion) No se. (To cutman's question) [Don't know.]
Margarito: (Look to the left and tells the 3rd person) No no no. (Shakes his head saying he doesn't want water.)
Capetillo: No te confies. [Don't get over-confident.] (He then looks at the cutman who had said something I can't seem to hear to Tony to which Capetillo responds.) No! Ninguna pegada! Aunque despegue despacio con eso![No! No punch! Although it'll take effect slowly with that.] (despegue literally means take-off but that's what I got from it.)
Margarito: Ya yo lo se. No lo confio. [I already know. I won't confide in it.]
Although I hate to admit it, it certainly sounds like they knew something but my opinion doesn't matter. We all have to wait until the official statement comes out.Comment

Reading this and then watching the video.... HOLY ****!
I am not the type to accuse anyone of anything unless I have solid evidence, and I am generally the foolish type that gives people the benefit of the doubt.
But seriously guys... this looks really bad.Comment

Well, admittedly, Lujan did have cauliflower ear. If you get hit hard on the ear that type of thing can definitely happen to someone that has this condition. I don't think that's too suss. Just a case of him (lujan) getting hit on the wrong place. It could have been done by anybody that hit him right where he got hit by Margarito.Comment

I clearly think Margarito used something againest Cotto.
But it won't change that he lost and its a questionable L on his record.
Even that Cotto lasted 11 rounds, he showed his grit.
I just hope Cotto bounces back fine cause if Marg did cheat, then that's really a shame.Comment

We cant tell who he is referring to because he asks how is the punch but who's punch is he referring to? Had he asked how is your punch or how is his punch, we could come to a more definitive conclusion but I believe that Tony's plaster was still setting and was like a rock by the 9th.Comment
