  • The 20 Greatest Cruiserweights of All-Time

By Cliff Rold - Follow the sweet science long enough and even a passing fan will hear, with sounds of awe, about an ‘original eight,’ about a bygone era when the sport’s weight classes were limited to just that number with (usually) just that many World champions.

Because Johnny Nelson made 13 title defenses and was unbeaten at Cruiserweight in 10 years, i know his fights were boring but you can't take away the success he had.

Why the 'lol'? The guy even went to the trouble of explaining in detail how he ranked them, which looks fair enough to me. As FreshPrince said, its always been a weak division. Those who can be competitive at HW usually move there sooner rather than later as the money is so much better.

Wow, what a dominating champion. David Haye fought a total of nine rounds as a cruiserweight champion. To be honest I don't know what it is but I guess Haye's mouth has got a lot of fans fooled into believing he is an elite all time great fighter or maybe even the second coming of Christ. At least Ring magazine has it right because they don't have him rated in their top ten heavyweights.
