Officials have been announced for tonight’s IBF championship fight between the #1 ranked Hermann Ngoudjo and the #2 Juan Urango. No surprise that referee Marlon Wright gets the nod for the main event for the vacant title. Wright who was at the helm of the controversial ending involving super-middleweight IBF Lucian Bute and Librado Andrade is the only Montreal based official affiliated with the IBF and as a result has done almost all fights involving the New Jersey based sanctioning in recent years. The resulting melee following the Bute-Andrade result ended up in Ngoudjo’s trainer Howard Grant sitting on the sidelines for tonight’s action as he serves a three month suspension. Judges are Richard Green, Pasquale Procopio and Robert Hoyle. Both Green and Hoyle are known to Canadian boxing fans as two of the judge’s at ringside when cruiserweight Dale Brown lost a very controversial decision to O’Neill Bell for the IBF belt in 2005.
