I just always hated the fact how Arum boosted him up so high and all the media bought it when his skills never warranted that. Even the biggest Margarito fan has to admit that his skills never warranted that. With that being said, I always felt that he was a good guy in and outside of the ring and showed alot of respect so I never hated him. Then comes the plaster thing and it changes everything. I heard alot of the writers who sweat Margarito trying to downplay everything. Some didnt write one single thing about the gloves and others try to say that you still cant take away everything he's done or if he did cheat then that still doesnt prove he cheated in any other fight and its not fair at all for anyone to suggest that. How? How is it not fair? To me if its found that he did cheat then you can easily say that he cheated before. 1st off Richardson said that he found blood on the gauze so that tells you he used them before.

2nd and most important, why would he pick now to cheat if he had never done it before? It would make no sense. He was the #1 WW, just killed Cotto, and fighting a guy who he was a 4-1 favorite against. Why would he feel a need to just start cheating all of assudden? I dont know how long he has been doing it but its definatly been longer then just the Mosley fight. I think it couldve started a number of times. Maybe years ago when he wasnt getting the big fights, he thought that he needed to start killing some guys to make a name for himself. Maybe it was after the Santos loss since he was being so hyped but got derailed and knew that if he didnt beat Clottey then it would be the end of his career. Maybe it was before the Santos fight because he knew that he was going up in weight. Maybe after the Williams loss because he knew that another would basically end his career and that Cotto would be his defining fight. To me its also like a steroid thing in baseball where everyone knows before hand that if they do get caught then the public will assume that they have been doing it for years even if they onld did truly do it once. If this was Margarito's 1st time then I dont feel sorry for people saying that he's been doing it for years because he knew that he ran the risk of people assuming that if he did get caught and he still did it.

One thing that really sticks out in my mind is the end of the Cintron fight. Despite all the good things I said about Margarito being a good guy, if he was cheating at that time then he's a stone cold beatch. I say this because do you guys remember the end of the fight when Cintron was on the ground and Margarito was mocking him and waving for him to get up like he was some big bad man but the whole time he had bricks in his gloves? Then after the final bell ended he ran up to Arum and started begging for Cotto like he's a beast when really he had those bricks all along. That would be the biggest ***** move of all time to me and could never be forgiven. I would just totally lose all respect for him. He basicaly couldve ruined the careers of Cotto & Cintron and slowed the careers of Clottey & Williams. I remember alot of the Margarito fans saying that Williams lost to Quitana because Margarito took it out of him. Maybe he did, with the plaster! I just hope its not true because it changes so many past boxing events and maybe ruined some guys careers while at the same time it puts a huge stain on boxing and this guy was probably the #1 hardcore guy in the sport with fans & media. Now look at him
Solid as usual, DLT, and I completely agree. He didn't just try to cheat for this one fight. He had no reason to suddenly try it now against a Mosley who looked TERRIBLE against Mayorga, who may even have less boxing skills than Margarito.

      Hey DLT,

      Look who's barking orders again.

One minute he's "surely not an -e ganster", and the next minute, he signs as one?

He can't come up with a rebuttle to your post, so
Instead Mr Dec 08 newbie commands as if he's in charge.

What's your problem DLT?! Posting your OPINION!?!? On NSB!!!???
God forbid the gangster's view changes after reading your thread.

Truth is, It's not your job to prove Marg cheated for the Cotto fight. It's Marg's job to prove he DIDN'T cheat in the past.

Of coarse mr "e-ganster" don't accept your post. He can't entertain the idea of Marg cheating in the past. He hasn't come to accept the fact that something was up with his hand wrap job against SHANE?!?!?!

It's one thing to be a die-hard-Marg-fan that's unwilling to accept the facts, but it's ****** if you can't even read a thread like this, because you're not willing to EXPLORE a different view.

I don't even have to argue 'guilty' or 'innocent', to point out 'ganster' contradicts himself and barks orders cause his arguments have no substance.

Don't even dirty your shoes to stomp him.

I just dont get this nonsense about the cotto v margarito fight.Cotto fans just need to let it go.Cotto nailed margarito plenty of times in that fight, and margarito just smiled at him and kept pressing forward.Even if we say margarito had horse shoes in his gloves that night,he certainly didnt have them in his chin so i fail to see how the outcome would have been any different.I mean is anyone seriously suggesting that margarito wouldnt have had enough pop to have stopped him anyway after hitting him with so many punches? Lets not forget that Cotto has been dropped and in trouble on a good few occasions in the past,****,even malignaggi hurt him! before the boricuas start jumping on my back,I would like to say that I think that Cotto is a fantastic fighter and I genuinely hope he comes back strong from his defeat. He just lost. That is the nature of the business

Amigo, No one should question Marg's Chin EVEN after this whole controversy. The fact that he works out so hard probably adds to his ko-resistance. I wouldn't insist that Marg would've got knocked out by Cotto at all. (even though arguments can be made for/against it) But stop and think about worse case scenerio:

What if...IF...Marg rigged the wraps, there wouldn't have been those 'THUDDING' blows, Do you realize how much affect that alone has in a fight?

Without going into details and for the sake of not waisting time arguing what might've happened, couldn't you at least imagine the possibility that Cotto might've made it another 2 rounds to see a decision?

This is not to make excuses, cause even Cotto fans have to admit the questionable Cotto chin. But I'm sure you're posting this AFTER knowing that Cotto had weight issues at 140. The reason he moved up in division was because he was Ko-prone while struggling to make weight.
He took some great shots from Zab, Shane, and EVEN Marg up till the end.
