Yea, I think this 'investigation' time is more like let's figure out how to get through this without looking so bad.

I mean I keep hearing "we always have officials thoroughly checking the handwraps before every fight", but if that's so true why was it ****m that discovered all this and not one of the 'officials'?

Because his son's face was permanently and irreparably severely damaged, he partially lost his eyesight, also permanently, and was so badly affected mentally that he committed suicide soon afterwards. Cotto recovered physically within a few days and seems to have recovered mentally as well.

I'm not yet willing to convict Margarito in the Cotto fight. I think that a lot of Cotto's fans want to believe that he cheated, and it seems like others are basing their belief on Cotto's condition after the fight.

First of all, as we can see with the pictures, Cotto was definitely not as beat up as Collins. Also, to say that boxing gloves alone couldn't do to Cotto what Margarito did...I don't buy it. I mean that's like saying that Lennox must have had plaster in his gloves when he ripped up Klitschko's face. True, some boxers cut less than others. Roy Jones doesn't cut much but a well placed shot by feather fist Calzaghe cut him up real nice. Cotto was cut pretty good by Judah. Things happen.

I think the point that is trying to be made is that the Nevada Athletic Commission has an inspector that takes extra measures to make sure there are not illegal gloves being used by boxers, and this makes sense since a majority of the big fights take place in Nevada. The question is, does the California State Commission take the same precautions. If I'm not mistaken, the Hopkins vs. Trinidad fight took place at MSG, which is in NY of course, and that was the last time I remember hearing about a boxer needing to have his gloves re-wrapped. Can anyone think of a time that a Trainer asked gloves to be re-wrapped in Nevada after the inspector had already done his thing?

If those precautions are in place in Nevada, I don't think Margarito and crew would be ****** enough to try to get away with it there. Doesn't mean he isn't still a cheat, as it may be proven that he tried it in LA, but I don't think there is overwhelming evidence that he did this against Cotto.

He's done for. Even if he comes out of this, he will forever have that * for the rest of his life and his biggest win will forever be questioned. It will be even worst if they ever fight again and cottos comes out good and even ko's margo

omg, that's enough evidence indicating that his gloves were definitely loaded

                    california Commission

Obviously, the California State Athletic Commission is at fault here. If an inspector is watching the wrapping of hands and doesn't inspect the gauze, there is incompetence on their part. Was an inspector present??? Why does it take so long to investigate the padding that was seized? Sounds to me like somebody is trying to cover their ass.

When you are cheating wrapping hands for a fight, you want the gauze to get wet and harden as the rounds go on. The mistake made by the trainer was that he probably used an old gauze that Margarito used in training and it was already hard.

I have been in and around boxing for twenty five years and know that gauze gets wet, with the tape, it can be become like a cast almost. Especially, if there is a substance on it...
