this is not a great time for amir khan. coming off a knockout loss then training in the same gym with possibly the most popular boxer today. what could get any worse? pacman going up against hitman who was way bigger in the UK than he is and we're talking about a huge shove into the sidelines.

Speak for yourself. I don't and IMO no-one who genuinely cares about British boxing does.

Since when was sparring with the no. 1 P4P fighter, and being trained by one of the world's three most respected trainers, bad for your boxing education? Get real!

None of my regular boxing contacts in the Uk are interested in this fight other than to complain he yet again has avoided the top 3 UK LW fighters to fight an old Super Bantumweight.

No matter how good Barrera is, he's still an Old Super Bantumweight.

Khan is Massive for a Lightweight and yet seems to be scared to fight anyone but people from divisions below him, Maybe it's because Frank Warren knows he has a glass chin just like the rest of us.

The bbc Boxing page doesn't even mention the fight.

It was covered in every major newspaper. BBC news programmes very rarely cover boxing, especially just to announce a fight is going to happen.

In his rematch against Pacquiao he was a super featherweight; and although he lost, he didn't look "very old" in that fight, he fought quite well. That's an ignorant comment.

It does, try putting your glasses on:

                    "Can Barrera turn back time?
Mike Costello looks ahead to Amir Khan v Marco Antonio Barrera"

Tickets have sold, yeah..that dosen't automatically mean it's a "red hot event". All Khan's fights sell out, but they aren't boxing fans, just Khan fans/kids.
