Wladimir was not really motivated or fully focused for his fight with Sanders - he had been wanting to fight another titleholder, or a big name like Tyson, Holyfield or Lewis - he didn't take Sanders seriously enough.

Sanders was not a greatly talented boxer, but he had one of the hardest left hand punches in the sport. Wlad seemed to be poorly prepared to face a southpaw.

David Haye is a strong puncher too, but his style is one Wladimir is used to and has defended very well against. The only difference if that Haye is probably faster than Wlad's recent opponents, and so that combined with power definitely gives him a punchers' chance in this fight. That's what makes it interesting - Vitali vs. Haye perhaps wouldn't be as exciting, because Haye would have virtually no chance of winning.

Actually I think Sanders had the potential to be very good, but hes the biggest HW underachiever since Buster Douglas. If Sanders had actually been focused on the sport he would have been hard to beat.
