I didn't realise there were going to be so many dimwits on tonight so, for the benefit of the hard of thinking, granite is a tough and durable rock. When commending a boxer with a particularly durable chin someone may say "he has a granite chin." Margarito, as a fighter renowned for having a solid chin, could be complimented in such a way however it now seems more apt to suggest that it is his gloves and not his jaw which is made of granite.
