People like Raskin and Kellerman willl just start saying Pacquiao wasn't much good anyway, or that he's a shot fighter.
There's a chance Joe would have been if Pacquiao had gotten smashed by a healthy Oscar.

Honestly, though, do you really think Hatton deserves it? Beating Pacquiao is enough, logically?

What does color have to do with it? Why even bring that up?

So what if Pac loses -- does Calzaghe become #1?

Hatton should really still be below Pac even if he wins, P4P lists shoud reflect the fighters best weight and not punish fighters for moving up 2 weight divisions and losing.

Hatton could well be 4-6 by 2010 if he beats Pac since Calzaghe and BHop will probably be gone by then.

JMM, Cotto and Vazquez in addition to pac SHOULD still be above him even if he beats Pac.

No, but I think Calzaghe will deserve it, if Hatton defeats Pacquiao, and Hatton should be moved up into #3 or #4.

But it's not going to happen. The Ring "experts" will find some excuse put someone other than Joe at p4p #1, I'd bet my life on it.

I agree that Hatton should climb several spots in the event of him defeating Pacquiao.

And I agree that Joe would make a deserving successor to Manny in that event. However, Joe may no longer be an active fighter by that point. It would be a shame for him to be in a position to usurp Pac as P4P #1 and choose not to seize it by seeking victory over a Chad Dawson or some other credible threat.

Nope, just beating the pound for pound #1 when your pound for pound #10 doesn't put you in top place.

Umm. If Manny loses Calzaghe will ne pound for pound number one. He may not be a pasty pale white, but he is white nonetheless.
