We have 4 major belts...and then some...which really ain't ****...no offense.
WBC / WBA / IBF / WBO
We already know the history and where this belts/organizations originated from and their contributions to boxing. Rate them accordingly to public appeal, prestige and personal opinions. Apparently, the Ring magazine somehow still ranks somehow...ala P4P, BUT IT'S STILL A MAGAZINE...isn't it? However, Ring mag does seem to be a gauge of public's approval for certain prizefighters. Anyway I heard the WBC no.1 premiere belt to go after. Froch is working up his win as such and he even dissed the WBA belt in comparison, Campbell also vacated the WBA belt for WBO and IBF. Sadly, it seems the IBF belt is mainly used to sort out the weak among foriegners such as Africans, Pinoys, Aussies and the likes, before put them in the spotlight for big bucks. The belt doesn;t seem to hold much water either. Wlad has the WBO and IBF as well, i naturally expect foriegners to have IBF, cuz they generally contend for, hence it's name. Not too sure about WBO though.
