Mosley fight. Apparently, an overwhelming amount of the pre-fight action was put on Mosley. He said that these 'smart money' wagers are common, although two factors have piqued the Justice Department's interest.

First, the amount of the wagers placed on Mosley was in great dispaity to the number of them. He said when alot of small wagers are made immediately prior to the fight they can be more easily dismissed as 'smart money' than a handful of very large ones. On Saturday, six separate Las Vegas casinos took wagers on Mosley at approximately 7:26 PST (right before the fight) totaling more than two million dollars.

Second, the FBI in Southern California has been investigating for some time the Arellano Drug Cartel's dealings with a number of athletic events, including boxing. The Arellano family has apparently kidnapped and held at ransom the wife or children of certain fighters in an effort to get that fighter to fix the fight. A former member of Margarito's management named Roberto Ramos is currently under investigation for being associated with the Arellano cartel.

Is it possible that Margarito threw the fight? I'm sure we'll being hearing more about this.

I just thought, he got caught cheating and had no extra pop on his punches and got his ass whooped.

    This explains it all..

Please don't come up with some "hopkins and mosley showed veteran savvy and confused their opponents" garbage. You can convince your drunk uncle's with that, but not me. Its one thing to loose a slugfest, its another to stand in front of Mosley and Hopkins, hands by your side and get clobbered.
I doubt pavlik would do something like that but Margo lives in TJ and it's facking hot out there right now.

Wow this is getting uglier and uglier. Me and my dad both watched the fight along with my fiance and family and everyone pointed out something fishy about this fight from the whole wrap thing to way Margarito came out and fought. Something wasn't right Tony was the favorite on that fight and the bets were going on his favor so I wouldn't be surprised if he took a dive that's a shame though. Boxing is such a dirty sport for real.

yeah cuz margo and pavlik are known for their mayweather like defense... please man.. they're normally the aggressors, that's what they got killed with. Pavlik got sidestepped, which he didnt learn to deal with along with hopkins' speed. he never had to really cover up, he even poked his chin out against Taylor, which caused the knockdown.

Margo NEVER EVER steps back or really covers up, he takes the shots and keeps coming with hooks and uppercuts. Mosley stepped too close and then stepped off with a quick reply of punches..

bottom line: Mosley and Hopkins, faster, more experienced, just better that night. deal with it.
