Im not sure if pac can stop hatton getting close, maybe he can, but i think people are taking it for granted that pac will just be able to dance around the ring landing at will.

Calzaghe rightly gets no credit for beating a shot RJJ who was 10x more live than Oscar.

santa cruz and morales are good victories, better than any malignaggi victories. and it was only a year ago when oscar had a split decision lost to floyd. my point is i would be worried if pac looked bad against them but he looked brilliant. you cant falt his performance.

Pac fought great against de la hoya.

But Oscar Was Fried to bits against pacquiao, he was like a walking bucket of KFC.

Mayweather fought oscar at 154 and that version of oscar was far superior to the one that pac beat.

obviously that was not a prime oscar, but people are overlooking his performance. people look at the negatives while i look at the positives. pac showd he can stick to a gameplan and be disciplined.

I think Hatton would make this an ugly fight, taking some of the action away by limiting Pacquiao offensive output, due to his smoothering style.

hatton is like a mike tyson wanna be....... i studied the similarities in their fighting styes, and the results were ridiculous... Hatton comes in with poor head movement and with the lack of an authoritative jab.... i guess he didnt realize how great tysons head movement was.....
i wouldnt be surprised if hatton wins..........

I'lll be very surprised, but the idea wont be far from my head because their styles calls for a pretty good fight, but I think overall Pacquiao is to fast for the Hitman.

Technical_Skill;4665841]Why are people talking like this fight will be a forgone conclusion? I got alot of respect for Manny and have no problem in him being the favorite, his speed, power and performance at the higher weights rightly means he is getting the respect he deserves in the pre fight build up. But people are concentrating too much on Hatton's flaws and not looking at the issues with Pacquaio.
                  1) Pacquiao is not Floyd Mayweather Jr, I dont think Ricky Hatton will ever fight against anyone with that level of skill ever again. Simply referring to the mayweather fight as proof a quick fighter will destroy hatton doesnt wash. Mayweather's timing was on another level to anyone else and he was alot more effective on the inside then hatton expected. When ricky was able to close distance on Floyd and get inside, he met a series of elbows, forearms and a fighter who would shoulder roll to create space and counter on the inside. I highly doubt pacquaio possess the threat to hatton on the inside that floyd did.
uhmm.. does anyone compare Pac with Floyd?

                  2)
If Hatton gets Inside Pacquaio how will Manny cope? Im expecting moments in the fight where Hatton is going to close distance on Pacquaio, how will he cope as hatton comes in with the smothering, bodyshots, rough-house tactics, is he slick enough to not get hit and manovure his way out of there unscathed?
More likely Hatton will not close the distance unscratched.

                  3)
What happens If Ricky moves away from the left hand? To me Pac isnt as quick to fire the shots if a guy isnt right in the line of the left hand lead. Marquez used this to his advantage by moving away from the left hand, effectivley shutting down pac's output, then planting jabs and right hands on him. If ricky moves away from the left, is pacquiao going to have a plan B this time?
He'll eat a lot of right hook and it's a no brainer, Paquaio isn't the same Pac who only relies on his left hand.

I think Ricky is being underestimated due to fact that people neglect the damage he could do to pacquiao once inside, ricky isnt going to be the stationary target oscar de la hoya was, he is actually quite quick in cutting down distance and coming in with lead hooks. I agree that Pacquiao is most likely the favorite if the fight is fought on the outside, but if Hatton backs him up, he could win the fight.
No one is neglecting Ricky's power and the damage he could do, it's just how he would do it and what Pac can do before Ricky.

Hatton won't be stationary like Oscar was in that fight.
