    I knew Margarito wouldn't last....

That's one of the first things i said when he took the belt off Cotto. I watched Margo's fight against Cotto, and it didn't look like Margarito was unstoppable. He was just able to stop Cotto that night.

Margo's style is what caught my attention. One dimensional semi-truck coming at you head on. He's tough, don't get me wrong. But a champion has to have different levels and dimensions, on the account that he has to fight everyone.

I knew Margarito wouldn't last as a Champion. That was his first title defense, and he lost it. Honestly, i really thought that Margo was going to run right through Mosely. And i figured Mosely was on a down slope of his career. I thought Margo was gonna win, but inside i wanted Mosely to win.

I think Mosely will be champion for a while, maybe until he retires. But Cotto should be next in line, then Clottey, maybe Zab, Hatton might be a good one (if Mosely decides to move down), but i think Mosely is going to be working on his rankings rather than his legend. He already built his legacy, now he just has to retire on top.

    Good for Mosely.

MARGARITO had 9 defenses of his WBO before losing it to PW. PW lost the WBO in his first title defense to Quintana.

When you make your first title defense to SSM....you kinda MIGHT lose..he isnt a push over. I dunno, this thread is kinda lame.

I thought of this as a very tought title deffense for Marg. I knew he had the other belt for a while and had defended it a few times. This to me was his first title deffense as linear Champion. Before to me he held a laphbet belt but after his win over Cotto he has been regarded as Top Dawg in WW. So the thread starter to me at least is partially correct. As for Shane he ain't moving down so if Hatton wants a piece of Shane he will have to move up. Hatton said he would move up if need be and fight at 147 even though he knows his best weight is 140. I would like to see Mosley fight Clottey and win that belt then if Cotto can beat up on jennings maybe Mosley and Cotto could get it on and fight for the undisputed tiel at WW.....Lefty

this was an alphabelt as well.. and he wasnt considered the lineal champion..

how can you knock Marg for fighting Cotto and then defending against SSM?

Floyd never defended against a top WW.. Baldo's first defense was Gatti.

Zab Judah made his first defense to Cosme Rivera THEN lost to BALDOMIR.

          like I said, lame thread...

Due I am not knocking Tony I am saying I thought he was very brave for taking this fight with Shane as a 1st title defense. As for Lineal Champion to me he was because at 147 he was considred Top Dawg. I am in no way knocking Tony for this fight. most guys wouldnt have even taken this fight as their first title deffence...Lefty

Two tough fights back to back and if he got passed Mosley to fight Cotto right after wards would have been crazy....Lefty

I didn't think anybody at 147 was beatin Marg anytime soon. SSM is the man.
