Are Shane Mosley's Accomplishments/Resume better than Floyd?

Just curious who would go down with the better legacy. Shane has top notch competition and even though lost afew, he did take risks nonstop. Something Floyd never attempted, thus he's "undefeated". Just looking at both resume, Shane has the better names on his, and the wins he does have are more impressive.

Why the **** does Mr boat buyer's name keep comin up? He's retired. If he actually came back to challenge SSM, this would be relevant.

Shane Mosley because Floyd has never faced the opposition that Mosley did. His resume doesn't look as impressive than Mosley's does. Shane fought the best opponents and also anyone they put in front of him. Even today he is fighting prime fighters like Margarito and KO'ing them. Mosley ultimately fought a better version of De La Hoya in his first match and won convincingly. Mayweather won a split decision to a way past his prime De La Hoya. Mosley is all skill, speed, power, class, iron chin and stamina. I say his resume and career outweighs Mayweathers. That's just my opinion and that's the way I view it...

It only came up because Shane pulled off an awesome win against a guy Floyd would rather go to Iraq than face. So it gets me thinking, Shane took on Margarito like nothing. No issues or ducking or nothing. He's never ducked the best. He always goes after them to see how well he can do against them, even falling short(Winky). His opponents are all 100x more skillful than most Floyd fought, and he did face a prime Oscar compared to Floyd. I think in the end, if you were to say who would get ranked higher in ATG, I'd put Shane ahead of Floyd.

He does seem to have a lot of rematches on his resume, with only Forrest and Winky being his undoing. Otherwise I think beating DLH and Vargas twice, and Collazo and Mayorga on there, makes him look pretty damn good history-wise.

Mosley's resume is better, accomplishments are about even but Mosley probably gets the edge with the win over Margarito.

If you count Winky, Vernon, and Cotto then yes his resume is better. If not then it isn't. All depends on what your definition of resume is.

Well, even if you take those guys away and not count them at all, it's still very viable that Mosley has a more impressive list of fighters beaten than Floyd. Losses do factor in, but, the fact that he took on those guys and the time that he was beaten and how is what you have to look at.

Anyway, with fighters on his W list such as Holiday, Molina, Leija, De La Hoya x 2 (prime both times), Vargas x 2, S. Taylor, A. Diaz, Cruz, Collazo, Mayorga and now the huge KO win over Margarito it is quite honestly much more impressive than the list of Floyd's. I think the only thing that keeps them close is that Mosley has lost, whereas Floyd hasn't. He never fought a prime welterweight Oscar, nor did he ever fight a prime Wright or Forrest. That, for me, just about makes up the difference anyway.

One thing that is slightly amusing when I've read discussions of Floyd's resume is that he gets good credit in his best, prime title years for beating guys like Juuko, Gerena, Manfredy, Vargas, Rios, and a little later on guys like N'Dou, Sosa, Bruseles, but, you rarely hear the same credit given to Mosley for beating much, much better fighters in Holiday, Taylor, Diaz, Leija, Molina etc. The only problem I see with it is that the above mentioned guys for Floyd are basically all never-ran types. Some exciting fights, but as far as I remember all of those guys have never won any title at all, even in this day and age of paper titles being given away. The guys that Mosley beat were all seasoned veterans with big names on their resumes or long time title holders, either future, former or present.

After just going over his career in light of the Margarito win, I really do think that Mosley has a better resume even taking into consideration his losses. To come back from those losses shows a genuine, legendary fighter and to do it by winning arguably his biggest fight, and certainly having his greatest ever performance is something very, very few champions can do. To put on a show like he did against such amazing odds and over someone that truly very few people gave him any hope whatsoever and to do it in such incredibly stunning fashion is remarkable. Brutally knocking out the guy that most people thought was utterly immovable and impossible to KO.

In 50 years Mosley will rank higher than Mayweather.

History will not be kind to Mayweather.
