Watch Chris Byrd against Jameel McCline, McCline pounded on Byrd's body and Byrd didn't even offer back any counters, he just took the shots.

Watch Muhammad Ali versus George Chuvalo, he invited Chuvalo to hit him to the body. He said that a boxer couldn't be hurt to the body, however crazy that was, but it showed in the fact that he never went to the body.

Please, Arturo Gatti can't take it to the body at all. Every time I see him, he's getting hurt by a body shot. The fight you mentioned above he could barely stand after body shots. Tracey Patterson knocked him down and OUT with a body shot in their rematch but the ref improperly called it a low blow. Floyd, Manfredy, and countless other examples.
