I agree that maybe it would be a better atmosphere with Froch for Welsh folks to get boozed up and enjoy an event. However, Calzaghe has clearly in the last year shown an attempt to widen his fanbase and solidify his resume. I probably shoudln't have made Zelenoff one of the choices. He's throwing off the results. Not that I woudln't want to see Cal/Zelenoff at Paris Middle School gym.

      Opponents do make a difference.

And to answer the last question, I don't really know, I would be happy with whoever because he has already proved enough to me, the fight will just be a "mega-event".
Calzaghe has gotten bigger since the manfredo fight. Also, this would be his last fight so people woudl show up no matter what. Also, if it were against Dawson, Dawson would be way more of a live opponent than Manfredo. Cal fans would have to show up to see if their boy in a last bout against a guy like Dawson. Dawson may even step into the ring with just under even betting odds.

But it's his farewell fight dude. It's gonna be packed no matter who he fights.

Seeing as how Froch sucks, I'd much rather see him fight Dawson. If he retired right now I'd be satisfied with his career, but if he insists on one more fight, Froch would be an enormous disappointment.

I'm not saying either way, I dont really care.

            But opponents do matter.

after Calzaghe beat Manfredo his very next fight was Kessler, where he drew in 15,000 more people.

You really think Manfredo done that to Calzaghe's fan base, If anything he probably lost fans.

Alot of us UK fight fans would have liked a Calzaghe Vs Froch fight but I think he will retire.

The Road Warrior. This was a fight that was supposed to happen but never did, ie injuries and such. Its a big fight and I think Joe draws a big crowd no matter what. It also adds to a resume that some find wanting.

He's set for life and his legacy will have nothing to do with how many people bought a ticket.

If he insists on continuing, Dawson is the fight.

He won't lost any fans fighting Dawson, I promise.

Casual fans will make a mockery of him if he fought another 40 year old with 12 losses.

                    lmao

And hardcore fans wonder why he pulled out of multiple fights with him??. Glen Johnson is fighting well right now. I dont see anything wrong with that matchup
